Tonight I did a speed/hill workout on the treadmill thanks to the lovely MN "spring" weather. I started with a light jog for five minutes. I then ran five minutes increasing incline 2% every minute until I was running at a 10 incline. Next I did a tempo run for 10 minutes increasing speed every 90 seconds until I was running at 7.30 pace. Next I did hill work again increasing incline 2% every minute. Finally, I did sprint work.Sprint for one minute, recover for one, run for 2 x 3. Ended with an easy run until I hit 5 miles. I am giving myself a 4/5 because I had to stop briefly for a side stitch during the tempo run. After a 30 second break, I continued. Sprints were easier than I anticipated and were run at sub 7 minute pace. |
